expand your vocab and change the life of our family

cov·er/ˈkəvər/
VerbPut something such as a cloth or lid on top of or in front of (something) in order to protect or conceal it.
NounA thing that lies on, over, or around something, esp. in order to protect or conceal it

we are asking you to pray for us.
to cover us in prayer.

we have needed an endless amount of concealment and protection lately.
there are two precious little ones who have regressed in major ways lately.
it is heart-wrenching.
why?
what has happened to trigger this?
it's irrational.
we didn't see it coming this time.
it's impossible to make sense of.
we can't try.
we can only love.
love.
love.
love.
love.
love.
love.

we have more evaluations coming up.
we have changes in schedule brewing. . . unbeknownst to them to avoid the sabotaging.
we're trying to prepare them covertly for love that's coming unexpectedly.
we're aching.
we're weary.
we're trudging through.

please cover us in prayer.
pray for the children.
pray for our schedule.
pray for the upcoming evaluations -
especially one on Tuesday at 930am
finally, seve will be evaluated for his speech.
finally, we will be informed on therapy strategies and have a plan in place the following week.
finally, we can boldly open the door of communication for him.

please pray.
trauma is rearing it's ugly head in full force.
the house reeks with it's foul odor.
wounded hearts are rebelling.
survival tactics are consuming little hearts and minds.

no one can prepare you, really and truly prepare you for what trauma and it's effects will do to your family.  you have to learn the hard way.  the "i will rip your lives, home and family apart and leave you -each and every one- in a wet, sobbing, pathetic heap" hard way.  and then you can either stay there or look up and find yourself at the foot of the cross with a loving Saviour who has not left you and will never leave you.  you can stand up, dust off what doesn't stick and trudge forward.  trauma has left. . . Jesus hasn't.  it's a long weary road wading through the effects of trauma, but we are not alone.

please pray for us.
cover us in prayer.

Oh, J - how I wish healing didn't hurt so much. Am praying for your precious kids. Wish I could be there for you! But for now, just let me echo what you already know...
You are not alone.
You are not alone. You are not alone.

Covering you all in love & prayer,

Be assured of our prayers, too, for each one of you.
Luke 4 ... when Jesus stands to read in the synagogue, quoting Isaiah, the J.B. Phillips reads: The spirit of the Lord is upon me,
Because he anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor;
He hath sent me to proclaim release to the captives,
And recovering of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty them that are bruised,
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.

How descriptive that "bruised" word!

I also read somewhere that the pain troubled people inflict on others is nothing compared to the pain they feel themselves.

We are covering you in prayer.

Love,
Grandpa and Grandma McMillan

Julie and Joel, I, too, wish parenting didn't hurt so much. I can only say that the two of you are the most wonderful parents of children that I know, problems or not. You are great problem solvers, full of love, understanding, there in an emergency, and you know when to ask for extra prayer. You know you have it from this corner of the world. I know you and Joel are Godly people and you will find help for the children.

2 Thessalonians 11:12
11 With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith. 12 We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Love, hugs, many tears of frustration and love and prayer. Mary
